The eastern Pyrenees
The department of eastern Pyrenees, located in the north of Catalonia and at the frontier of Spain both offers the pleasure of mountain and the delight of sea……… Some geography to precise that three parallel rivers go through it from west to east : the Tech, the Têt and the Agly. It is also in the eastern Pyrenees that the Aude originates. Its highest peak is the Carlit peak (2921 m) and its starring mountain is Mont Canigou.
The Mediterranean climate, allows quite mild winters and hot summers. Winds have an important role especially the tramontana, a north western wind, often reaching speeds higher than100 km/h. The sea wind brings rain.
